Autistic disabled queer woman looking for personal assistant to help with administrative tasks and getting out of the house
Context of the Situation
Seeking an additional personal assistant for part time support. She primarily needs help with administrative tasks like paperwork, bills, and general organisational support, but may at times need help with household tasks, getting outdoors to do shopping, appointments, and social outings as she faces challenges on a daily basis related to her CPTSD and physical disabilities, along with her poor working memory and executive dysfunction. These duties would be shared with her other PA, who typically works twice a week. Initially you would be working two days a week but may be asked to cover shifts that her other PA is unavailable for.
Specific Needs
She is autistic, and likely also has ADHD, which in combination significantly impacts her ability to manage some tasks independently. She is often anxious, and has CPTSD which is regularly triggered by words, word associations, images, and sound effects that seem benign to others. When this happens, it disrupts her ability to participate in conversations. She has expressed that it is less stressful to quickly move past the trigger rather than pausing to dwell on and address it.
She is also physically disabled as she is deaf in one ear, and due to past injury her arms are quite weak so she has difficulty with certain actions such as lifting objects at arms length or at certain angles. This includes putting on or taking off her coat, reaching tall shelves, and pouring heavy items. Due to her impaired hearing and being autistic, she also gets easily overwhelmed by loud or disruptive noises such as those from motorbikes, self checkouts, and alarms, and can struggle to identify the source of a noise due to her impaired hearing.
