Cook / meal prepper in Hove
I'm a neurodivergent disabled person living in Hove looking for help with bulk cooking and meal prepping.
Summary: 4-5 hours per week (ideally 2 x 2/2.5 hours); £13.50 p/h; same time and date each week, but flexible as to when that is.
About me: I'm a transmasculine person in my late twenties, unemployed but writing my PhD proposal with the intention of starting in 2026. I live with my best friend and our cat, a cheeky Bengal tabby. Both me and my flatmate are trans, so being respectful and open-minded is crucial. In my spare time I love to create, whether that's painting, writing, fibre crafts, collaging or more.
About the role: I need someone who is able to bulk-cook dinners that are suitable for my dietary and sensory needs. The first few weeks of the job will comprise of us sitting down together and creating a 'menu'; a collection of recipes that I know are safe for us to pick from each week. As you settle into the role and come to understand my needs, I encourage you to add your ideas. I would preferably like 4-6 portions of 2 dishes made each week so I have some variety, and will need you to prepare these, portion them so that they are ready to eat once heated, and wash any equipment used afterwards. I may need help sometimes obtaining the ingredients, which I would obviously cover the costs of.
Part of the role will include an awareness of low-fat or low calorie options to support me losing weight, but it's important that your approach is not fatphobic, moralising weight loss, or rooted in diet culture. I am happy to discuss this in more detail at interview.
This role would suit someone who is up for a creative challenge, has an interest in vegetarian and vegan cooking and is respectful and understanding of food restrictions caused by sensory aversion / ARFID.
