Join a PA team supporting a 22 year old male
We are looking for a fun caring PA to help build a small team of regular companions for our 22 year old son, who has multiple learning difficulties, epilepsy, and is non verbal. He is a happy, outgoing young adult who enjoys socializing and meeting people.
The role will include supporting him to access a range of activities and provide high quality continuity of care. Providing 1:1 support within the family home and out on trips, to clubs and social activities in the community.
Our son will be leaving full time education at the end of July so we are looking for someone who will have regular availability to support 10-4pm 1 day per week from August onwards. The position is available to start right away as soon as all appropriate checks and training have been completed, but until he leaves College, most initial shadow sessions will need to be arranged during evenings (after 4pm) or at weekends. We will do our best to offer flexibility so that we can fit these sessions around existing work / life commitments.
Ideally the successful candidate will be ready to start 1 x regular weekly 6 hr sessions in August (day of week TBC), with up to an additional 6 hours available evenings / weekends if wanted. There will be the opportunity to work 2:1 for some sessions.

Responsibilities
• Must undertake an enhanced DBS check
• Provide all aspects of care required for a young disabled adult including personal care and emergency medication administration
• To follow the guidelines set out in individual care plan.
• To fulfil all training and supervision requirements
Essential
• Interest in working with young people with learning disabilities
• Must be physically fit, self-motivated, caring, reliable, patient and trustworthy.
• Must be able to fit in with a busy family home and confident to work both 1:1 with the client out in the community and on public transport, and as a team on 2:1 activities
• Clean driving license
Desirable
• Use of own car.
• Live close to Brighton and Hove area.
