Support for a young family, including wheelchair user and neurodiversity: Pay rate: £13.00ph
We are looking for one or two self-employed Personal assistants (PAs) to join our close-knit team and support us at home and when we are out and about. Two awesome PAs recently joined, and we're looking to distribute the responsibilities among one or two more people. I have cerebral palsy and chronic dizziness and use a wheelchair. My husband and daughter are autistic and have attention difficulties and hyperactivity.
We are a young family hoping for support to make every day less challenging so that we can enjoy more of the vibrant family life we love. We'd love to meet a like-minded person who can help us by keeping our home clean, tidy, and exceptionally organised, cooking nutritious vegetarian meals, assisting me physically with my mobility and personal care needs, and helping my husband and daughter (7) with their autistic and ADHD needs.
We are a Buddhist family who enjoy being creative, listening to and playing music, and dancing! We are also interested in learning languages, especially French, German, and Spanish.
Person specification
It is essential that you can drive and have a medium—to large-sized car to support with school runs, appointments, trips out and shopping.
Non-smokers essential, please.
You will need a DBS and two references.
We have an indoor cat, and our daughter is especially interested in cats, so enthusiasm about cats is necessary.
A strong sense of organisational skills to keep our living space exceptionally tidy and accessible is essential for this role.
Good time-keeping and effective communication.
A can-do attitude and an upbeat personality are also necessary to meet our family's various needs.
Flexibility is essential, so you must be able to work some early starts, weekends, evenings, and possibly some overnights.
We like to get out and about regularly, preferably daily, and need support to do this. Our daughter's autistic needs mean she has an exceptionally high need to move, and we don’t have a garden. So, we take daily trips to the park and sometimes to town, and we need support for this.
However, these responsibilities are shared amongst our small PA team. We need reliability and flexibility, but we can also offer them to our PA team when needed.
Our team includes a wonderful mix of wonderful characters whom we really care about. Some are parents, some are students, some are mature students, musicians, and artists—all sorts!
Please get in touch. Looking forward to hearing from you!
