Energetic PA wanted

Hello! I am a very sociable, funny and happy 12 year old boy - I love people and I love having a chat!

I live at home with my mum and my twin sister and older brother.

My mum is looking for an extra PA to join the team in helping look after me! She can be quite busy with work and looking after me and my siblings so she needs extra help.

We are looking for somebody confident, caring, reliable, energetic and motivated to help her out looking after me in school holidays and occasionally after school and evenings - this could be a mix of being with me at home or taking me out to places. Days/times/number of hours are variable and to be negotiated with a start date as soon as possible

I have a rare chromosome disorder which causes me physical and learning disabilities and epilepsy - I also have ADHD and Autism. Looking after me includes helping to keep me occupied and happy, keeping me safe (because I need some help to recognise dangers), taking care of my personal care needs, and helping me develop and learn new skills. I’d especially like you to take me swimming, help me ride my trike, play football, practise bat and ball skills, and help me get better at sitting down to learn how to look at books for longer and practise some table activities and games. I also need you to help with some of my medical needs like giving me medication and doing physio exercises with me.

If you’ve got a car that’s great! If you haven’t that’s ok too - I love buses and trains - in fact any kind of transport - as long as you are confident and motivated enough to take me out and about - I get bored easily!

You will have to be confident and able to hold firm boundaries with me - I can be cheeky and I respond better to a firm approach!

I walk pretty well now but I can be a bit unbalanced and can get tired easily so I use a wheelchair sometimes for longer journeys or longer days.

Payment is via my direct payments - as an employee paid monthly at an hourly rate of £12.71 per hour weekdays/£13.71 weekends (different rates apply if you are self employed which is also an option)

References and DBS enhanced check are essential (DBS to be arranged by us/local authority)
