PA needed for extra daily living support few hours a week in Woodingdean for a chronically ill person

Pa advert

Thank you for reading my advert in advance.
I’m looking for a new long term PA to help me with my daily life and who can do house chores for me.
Minimum 3 hours a week to 4 hours maximum (hours can be adjusted based on the speed you need to work at and occasional added for ad-hoc chores). I really need more support but this is all I can afford.

Pay £16 per hours, self employed only I’m afraid as I could not manage to get any appointments with Adult social care.

I’m Mel, 37, neurodivergent, gender diverse, ambulatory wheelchair user with various chronic condition and complex physical and mental health. I’m unable to work because of my conditions and I spend the vast majority of my time at home. The location (for the next 20 days or so Preston park) from the 23th of October onward in west Woodingdean.

I’m looking for someone who:
- Follows Covid precautions, is comfortable either with regular Covid tests or to work with a mask, particularly, between September and May (during the more at risk months, excluding very hot days as too uncomfortable). Does not come to work if with a cold and communicate instantly when symptoms arise.
- Understand , is willing to learn, and is comfortable around OCD, cPTSD, neurodivergence and queerness
- Has outstanding communication skills
- Is fairly strong, able to safely lift items like boxes and help me transfer (not fully holding my body, just assisting transfer) during a flare up or arrhythmia attacks
- has a calm personality and doesn’t bring an anxious energy in the house, who is not clumsy and frenetic in doing things
- Is really trustworthy
- Is happy taking directions on how to do things and communicate if has some ideas of improving things rather than taking initiative and doing stuff without my consent
- Ideally has basic first aid training (not essential) and doesn’t panic if I’m feeling very unwell
- Is comfortable with nudity, e.g.. If paramedics arrive and have to perform a ECG, exposing part of my body, or if I get low blood pressure in the shower and I need help to get out (because there is involved potential nudity, and I have complex sexual trauma, this position is only for female or AFAB people)
- Ideally a predisposition for good cooking and likes following recipes
- Ideally has a car (but not essential)
- Is able to keep things and sort things in the exact place where they belong to not break my routines or risking to make things harder to access for me
- has attention to details and good memory
- Who is reliable, always comes to work in time and is used to doing their work admin regularly, filling their invoices, and doesn’t not need any reminders to send them to me.

I’m looking for some who can do professionally the following task (not all tasks are weekly based and some will be adjusted based on urgency levels):
- Help sorting boxes and tidy the house after my move
- High standard home cleaning on a weekly basis, including kitchen, bathroom , bedroom and living room (with monthly deep cleaning or certain areas)
- Clean dishes
- Change bedsheets
- Fill up my dosette box
- Bulk meal prep of various type of recipes
- Laundry, hanging clothes to dry
- Organising and tidy things, putting away food shopping
- Working whilst being alert during my shower, in case I’m not feeling well and i need help and support
- Being able to help me with transfer to bed
- Taking the rubbish out
- Occasionally small food shop to top up urgent missing items
- Ad‑hoc support with admin task
- If there will be any health improvement in the future, I will need support accessing certain events and community or even access swimming.

During the work hours you can use headphone to listen to your favourite music or podcast with the transparent setting, if helps you concentrating, I just need you to not use noise cancelling as I need you to hear me if I need something.

I like routine and knowing what to expect, ideally the job will be carried be on the same days/times but some flexibility will be allowed if required for your others, current, jobs.

Please get in touch if interested.

Many thanks,
Mel
