URGENT Personal Assistant (PA) Required – SEN Support (Part-Time, Flexible), he is Home Educated

I am looking for a reliable, calm, and proactive Personal Assistant to support my son (age 13), who has additional needs including developmental coordination challenges, visual field loss, mild learning disability, autism and epilepsy.

This role is essential in supporting both his wellbeing, autonomy and independence.

This will be out in the real world and in our home in Hove. Consistency and communication are extremely important.

About the role:
- Supporting a creative, music-oriented young person
- Helping him access the community safely
- Providing structure, co-regulation, and a calm presence
- Supporting sensory needs and adapting to his pace
- Occasional support around meals or outings
- Supporting him at Home Education provisions

Key requirements:
- Experience with SEN (autism, DCD, sensory needs, or similar)
- Patient, emotionally regulated, and intuitive
- Strong communication and reliability (this is non-negotiable)
- Able to give adequate notice if unwell or unavailable
- DBS check
- Driver preferred
- Self Employed

Hours:
- Approx. 17+ hours per week (with potential to increase) with some weekend work, with some flexibility

Location:
- Brighton & Hove

Pay:
- Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)

Important:
Due to the nature of the role, reliability is essential. Last-minute cancellations have a significant impact, so I am looking for someone who can commit to consistency and clear communication.
